Based on years of research with over 3,000 study participants, SMART has developed an in-person brain training therapy called Brain U Clinic that is delivered one-on-one for the preservation of cognitive function and mental acuity in cases of mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia.
To make our scientifically supported program available to more individuals, we have developed our virtual, interactive program, Brain U Online.

The development of SMART Brain Aging, Inc. and the Brain U programs are based on the extensive research of Dr. John DenBoer, a leading neuropsychologist in the area of early stage dementia detection and founder of the Brain U programs. Dr. DenBoer’s ongoing research continues to support the therapeutic value of the Brain U programs.
Dr. DenBoer received his training in Clinical Psychology at The University of Montana and University of Colorado. He received his internship training at Harvard University and Boston University School of Medicine (VA Boston Healthcare System) and received his postdoctorate training from Barrow Neurological Institute.
