You may have heard the claims, that coconut oil can help with those suffering from Alzheimer’s.
But, you have to be aware that there has not been enough experimental research or evident backing those claims. However, there have still been a number of people who have claimed that coconut oil is beneficial to their memory loss.
The theory: the neurons in the brain of those with Alzheimer’s are unable to use glucose to produce energy. The ketones that are produced in the body by coconut oil may act as an alternative energy source in these cases and nourish the brain.
Using coconut oil as an alternative source of energy source for your brain may sound like a good idea that is harmless. But it is important that you do know about the potential dangers. Coconut oil is extremely fatty and it contains high levels of saturated fat that leads to high cholesterol levels.
Remember, keep in mind that this is just a theory with no scientific research to back up the claims. before adding coconut oil to your diet, always consult with your physician to make sure it is safe.
