Each year, the Alzheimer’s Association celebrates the longest day of year by spreading awareness and raising funds for Alzheimer’s research.
On the first day of summer, June 21st, the
Alzheimer’s Association asks you to join them in the many ways to celebrate and
also show support for those with Alzheimer’s.
Around the world, people take part in fundraising activities on the Summer Solstice to spread awareness about Alzheimer’s and also to raise money to continue the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to conduct more research to learn more about Alzheimer’s.
To join in, it’s easy! First, visit the Alzheimer’s
Associations website HERE!
Then, chose the activity of your choice (see below) and register online! You
can also invite others! Or you can also search for events in your area.
- Exercise! Things like running, walking, cycling,
yoga, swimming or hiking
- Sports! Go bowling, golfing, play soccer or play
- Games! Play card games or board games
- Have a party! Barbeques are always fun during
Also, purple is the official color to represent the Alzheimer’s
Association. You can show your support by shining purple porch lights!
