On June 22nd at the Phoenix Marriott Resort Tempe at The Buttes, the Alzheimer’s Foundation’s National Educating America Tour will be coming to the valley, offering a free conference to help those coping with the impacts of dementia.
What is the AFA?
The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is a non-profit organization that provides services to people with dementia.
AFA’s National Education America Tour
Through the tour, the AFA brings an educational conference, resources and even free screenings to select U.S. cities, including Tempe.
The goals for the tour:
- Promote early detection
- Provide information, research and support services
- Raise Alzheimer’s awareness
The conference was originally scheduled to come to Tempe on March 9th, but due to harsh weather conditions in the northeast, the AFA was unable to travel to Arizona to host the event.
At the AFA’s National Educational America Tour, attendees get the chance to engage with leading dementia experts, receive a free memory screening, undergo a wellness checkup and even test their cognitive abilities.
